Quality organizations
American Society for Quality (ASQ), www.asq.org. ASQ makes available the ISO 9000 series of Quality Standards, known as the Q9000 series in the United States, as well as many books on quality. ASQ has programs for certifying Quality Auditors, Quality Engineers, Quality Managers and other specialists, and offesr many workshops and training courses.

Standards organizations
American National Standards Institute (ANSI), www.ansi.org. This organization is responsible for maintaining and issuing national standards within the United States.
International Organization for Standardization (ISO), www.iso.ch. This organization is responsible for issuing and maintaining all the ISO standards in use around the world. Technical Committee (TC) 176 has exclusive responsibility for the ISO 9000 series of Quality Standards which have been adopted as the national quality standard by over 90 countries in the world.
