ES&H SIG E-mail List

The ES&H e-mailist, stc_esh_sig, can be a great source of support for many STC ES&H SIG members. It is unmoderated and managed by the SIG Manager.

Joining the E-Mail List

Join the e-mail list by signing on at http://mailman.stc.org/mailman/listinfo/stc_esh_sig, where there is a form to enter your email address, and (optional) name and password.

About passwords

You need the password to do more with the list, like change your email address, so you might as well do one immediately. The site recommends using a password you don't use for everything else (like YournameSTC.) It can be used globally for all your STC lists.

Receive as digest

You can also decide whether to receive emails as a daily digest.

Posting messages

To post messages to the main mailing list, send the messages to stc_esh_sig@mailman.stc.org.

Using the Web Interface

The e-mail list's web interface is available at http://mailman.stc.org/mailman/listinfo/stc_esh_sig.

Search through old messages in the esh archives

Go to http://mailman.stc.org/pipermail/stc_esh_sig/, which you can access through the main interface.

Changing your settings

For all changes in settings you have to start with the same steps:

  1. Go to http://mailman.stc.org/mailman/listinfo/stc_esh_sig.
  2. At the bottom of the page enter your email address in the text field to the left of the Unsubscribe or edit options button.
  3. Click the button.
  4. Enter your password and click Log In.

Create a password to be able to do other things

  1. Start with the first 3 steps listed above for changing your settings.
  2. Click the Email My Password To Me button, and an email with a default password will be sent to you.
  3. When you receive the email, click the link to your page.
  4. Find the Change Your Password section, enter your new password twice and click Change My Password.

Change your email address

  1. Start with the 4 steps listed above for changing your settings.
  2. Enter the new email address twice and (optionally) your name.
  3. Select the Change globally option below the button, to change this for all your STC lists.
  4. Click Change My Address and Name.

Switch to "digest" and other settings

  1. Start with the 4 steps listed above for changing your settings.
  2. Select among the various options available to you (including getting the mails as a digest, or in MIME format instead of plain text.)
  3. Click Submit My Changes.

Unsubscribe

  1. Start with the 4 steps listed above for changing your settings.
  2. Select the Yes, I really want to unsubscribe option below the button.
  3. Click Unsubscribe.
